Novoferm cancels participation in BAU 2021 trade fair
Novoferm will not be exhibiting at BAU, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems, in Munich in January 2021. The company has made this decision based on the continuing development of the corona pandemic, which is currently so difficult to predict. “We have not taken this decision lightly, but developments in general and what the actual situation will be like in January are uncertain and cannot be foreseen. Having weighed up all of these factors, cancellation is the right step to take and gives everyone involved planning security,” according to Rainer Schackmann, Chairman of the Management Board at Novoferm.
As one of Europe’s leading system suppliers of doors, garage door solutions and loading systems, Novoferm is traditionally represented with one of the largest stands at BAU. Trade fair participation on this scale is associated with considerable costs while preparations require a lot of time. The Novoferm trade fair team has already been working for months this year on presenting product innovations and highlights to German and international visitors once again in 2021.
“For us as a company with a strong international presence, personal contact with customers and partners from all over the world – at BAU, which has an international focus – is one of the key reasons for taking part in the trade fair. We cannot make any reliable predictions at this stage as to whether attendance at the trade fair will be possible without any risks to health and without restrictions for prospective and existing customers and colleagues. However, it is precisely this personal contact that we see as particularly at risk in the current situation in view of possible travel restrictions and strict requirements. A BAU with physical distancing regulations, strict hygiene rules and government directives does not reflect the spirit of the trade fair and will not be the same,” Schackmann emphasises.
“We will now be concentrating on projects and measures that are needed in order to be well-positioned during and after this crisis, together with our customers.”
